Professional Speeches You Can Buy While Speech-Time.com is all about writing speeches, we know that sometimes everyone gets short on time - at least, I do! So I reviewed a couple of websites where you can buy professionally-written speeches for those times when you just can't get your ready. Check them out at What to Do When You Need A Speech FAST. John Maxwell, American author and motivational speaker, believes that each of us have the ability within us to become great. Most people who want to get ahead do it backward. They think, 'I'll get a bigger job, then I'll learn how to be a leader.' But showing leadership skill is how you get the bigger job in the first place. Leadership isn't a position, it's a process. I recently saw John Maxwell speak in a large venue where over 15,000 people gathered to hear him. His energetic attitude and obvious love of what he was doing filled the room. 3. Live up to your abilities. I am tempted to fill this issue with quotes from the speech I recently heard John Maxwell give, but I rather think the copyright laws would take a rather dim view. My reason for beginning this week with Mr. Maxwell is that so many of us shun public speaking, sometimes even at the expense of job or social advancement, with the thought that we have nothing worthwhile to say, or are unable to deliver the information in a way to keep and hold attention, or are just plain afraid. An old axiom says that if you don't feel like smiling, smile until you do. Don't let your feelings dictate your actions, let your actions dictate your feelings. This holds true for many aspects of our lives. Even when you don't feel confident, act like it anyway! If you radiate confidence, your audience will be much more receptive, and chances are, your feelings will begin to match your behavior. Mr. Maxwell radiates confidence when delivering his speeches. He has the amazing talent of making you feel like he is addressing his remarks to you personally, even though there are thousands others in the room. I will close this week with one of my all time favorite quotes, again by John Maxwell. "People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care." Happy speaking! |
